Cold Season

I was rearranging my closet on the weekend.  I put away the couple of Christmas outfits that I wore this season. There weren't many places to go.  I watched some things online.  I went to a couple of online Christmas parties. I also moved forward the warm clothes and relegated the short sleeves and summer clothes to the back of the closet. I sighed as I made this change because I am not all that fond of the cold weather. I don't really enjoy dressing in layers.  I don't really enjoy sweaters.

But, it occurred to me that the way things go it won't be long before I will be changing things back.  The cold season only lasts for a time. It has its place in the year.  I missed the cold season when I lived in the subtropics of Hawaii and Okinawa and the warmish winters in central Florida. I missed the cold season. Here it is already January, and by March or April there will start to be some warm days. By May, cold will be over.

There is a lot of hope this spring.  As every year, the days will be longer again. The flowers will bloom. My granddaughter turns one this spring. I hope to receive the vaccine.  I hope that it works. So, I just have to keep going in this cold season and during these short days.  Better, brighter days will be here before I know it.
