You brought me to this place I am today. I might have regrets, might wish I could go way back and do things differently. But, You brought me here to this place and time for a reason. I went through all of that to be here today. Today is a blessing. Today I walk with You. Be with me. Be with me always.

You chose to live in Capernum. It was a city with many, many people. Simon Peter lived there. It was a busy place on the banks of the sea of Galilee. It was Your place. I imagine it felt like home.
I am happy to have a home base. I understand and share that feeling of home and of passing through life. Things don't stay the same. Life isn't permanent.
Help me to go through life and enjoy the blessings of home, but appreciate that I am borrowing my time in life. Help me to listen to You. Help me to carry out the reason you made me. Help me to remember that I am loved.

Where will I go someday again? Where will You take me? What places are still part of my journey? I have loved the places I have been. I felt You hold my hand and take me there. Where will You take me again someday?

Smiles on a child's face. Families in harmony. Delicious food. Warm homes. So many special times this Christmas season. Than You for sending Your Son who is the source of all that is good. Thank You for the baby who saved us all from sin and death. Thank You for all the good gifts.

I try to imagine the joy of living at the time of Jesus. I wonder what it would have been to sit at the feet of Him who brought Good News. Looking down at Peter's house I wondered how it was. But, people are people. We live we laugh we make mountains out of molehills and we hurry on our way. Help me to take a deep breath and be with You are You are with me this Advent. Thank You for the gift of coming and living among us. Thank You for the Holy Spirit that is with us still.

Help me to find the gate, the one where You are. In the labyrinth of cities and people and causes and and busy-ness, help me to seek You. Shine like the star in my life. Lead the way. You are The Way. Help me to see You. Help me to find You. Help me to feel Your love. Help me to reflect that love to a world that really needs it. Thank You for coming. Thank You for being with me.

As the year comes to an end, I look back over the past year. It was a scary year, a hopeful year, a year of waiting, a year like no other. Walk with me Lord. Lead me where You want me to go. Hold my hand. Hold me close. Triumph over this virus. Triumph over hatred and division. Triumph over lies and cruelty and hate. Come, Holy Spirit, teach me to love. Thank You, Lord. Thank You.

You speak to me throughout my day and into my life. So often I don't listen. But, sometimes You get my attention. You speak to me in the beauty of creation. And then I remember that You are the Lord of my life and there is a lot of beauty and love and joy. Keep speaking and I will work to keep listening.

Happy am I that God has rescued me. Happy and glad for my walk with God in this life. Happy and joyful for the years in the past and years ahead. Happy and hopeful am I that people before me carried the faith to me.

You light up the sky with Your presence with us. You paint with all the colors. You make many and varied things. You are vast and endless and as small as my heart. You are here there and everywhere. Be with me. Go ahead of me and lead me on.

The violets bloom in the grass in April. They cover the lawn with blue. It is am amazing sight for a few days. The violets are a gift.
Throughout my life there have been times of wonder and growth and bloom and times of emptiness and sorrow. My life is like the violets in the lawn, briefly amazing and wonderous. But, holding onto You when the violets aren't blooming is the trick. I am learning, slowly learning to value the fallow times as well.
Thank You, Lord, for being with me through it all. I know that You are there and it is amazing, it is an amazing journey, this life. Thank You.
