When I watch the grandkids for the day while their parents work I make them lunch. The choices are limited--taquitos, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese. I can add applesauce, cheese, carrots, and green beans from the pantry at home.
I pack my own lunch. My choices are also limited. I bring a salad with various ingredients, olives, tomatoes, croutons, carrots and a boiled egg. I usually throw in unsweetened fat free Greek yogurt and some berries. I also might throw in grapes or apples or nuts or cookies. Sometimes I throw in something leftover.
It doesn't matter what my lunch is. The grandkids want some of mine. Purloined food tastes best. So, I have learned to pack extra. This doesn't do my diet any good. But, I have to share with the grandkids. Grandma's lunch is best afterall.
