My daughter in law is a girly enough girl, but she is not a lace and pink and dress up girl. She is more likely to dress sporty or casual in my experience with her. She hasn't minded dressing her daughter in big brother's onsies and rompers. She hasn't bought much in the way of dresses for her, until recently.
My granddaughter was born with the lace and pink and girly girl gene apparently. She is not yet a year and a half old, but if given the choice of clothing she goes for the dressy dresses and pink rompers and lavender onsies. She isn't big on bows. But, patent leather Maryjanes are her favorite shoes. She likes shoes and socks generally, the more the better. I have told my son to look out and save his money, because his daughter likes shoes and clothes.
This girly thing cannot be learned. It must be innate. I wonder what the girly girl gene looks like?
