Boring Post for Saturday--Grandma's Cookies

My three year old grandson still usually takes a nap.  We call it quiet play time because he says that he will not sleep. He is stubborn and will prove to us that he won't sleep if we call it a nap.  He plays with a truck and usually falls asleep.  The whole thing is a process.

When he gets up there is usually an episode of Daniel Tiger.  I have started providing a snack.  I bring him a small pack of cookies.  He likes the chocolate chip ones.  When I first gave him the little bag he said in wonder, "The whole bag!"  So, of course grandma had to keep that going.

The problem for me is that little sister has caught on to brother's treats.  It isn't that I wouldn't bring her a bag too.  It is that at a year and a half her parents are not giving her that much sugar. They probably don't approve completely of brother's sugary snack either, but I happen to know that he gets sugary snacks, so it isn't forbidden. So, sister brings me my lunch bag and very non-verbally demands I open it up and find a treat for her.  I have started packing raisins and oat cereals and little graham cracker bites. But, she really wants what her brother has.  She wants Grandma's bags of cookies.

Someday, little girl.  Someday, I will give you cookies too.
