Social Media and Politics

I hear people complain about all the political stuff on social media.  Some people get off altogether to avoid it.  I was puzzled about that, because I almost never get political ads or see political posts.  But lately there have been a few and I have handled it the way I always do.  That was an "Aha" moment for me.  I delete political posts.  I snooze people who post political articles.  I snooze them for 30 days to start and unfriend them if that doesn't work. I never read the articles that are linked to by anyone.  I am on social media to see things about kids' birthday parties and cute pets.  I am not on social media to have people try to sell me their politics. It just makes me angry.

So, if I haven't liked your posts for a while and am surprised that someone in your family got married, that might be why.  I have snoozed a sibling and may unfriend if it keeps up. I don't accept friend requests from people who I know are political. My rule is--social media is a politics free zone. Period, end of sentence.
