What's New With You?

Doesn't it feel like in the last 15 months things have reached a certain sameness?  All the information about the virus and the vaccines took up a lot of space in my head.  I read a lot of royal family drama.  There seem to be a great number of murders and shootings. But, the usual ordinary things of life got put on hold.

I didn't see cousins.  I didn't go to funerals.  I didn't go much of anywhere, even church. There were few movies or new television shows even made for a  while. The people I stayed in touch with were largely on the computer or the telephone. I couldn't plan to do things like fence my yard or recover sofa cushions. Life was in some ways blah.

But, I did make some new friends.  I got to know two basketball players in my neighborhood. They greet me these days.  I got to know the guy who restores old cars.  I know that the lady who walks her family's dogs. And the lady who lives on the corner.  And the lady who walks the fuzzy dogs and her husband who also walks them. So, there is that.

I look forward to getting back to activities again.  I look forward to seeing people, to meeting people.  I look forward to traveling again sometimes.  I look forward to feeling normal and not fearful of others.  I look forward to something being new again.
