I heard someone talking about the game Wingspan on the radio a while back. It sounded interesting to me because I like birds. Maybe I am not that crazy about the parakeets who live in my house at the moment, but I like birds. Especially wild birds out flying in the sky. I sort of wish I had started recording birds I saw a long time ago. It feels too late to start that now.
But, back to the game, I put it on my wish list and got it for Christmas. I have played it only a couple of times with my son and daughter in law, because the pandemic happened after I got the game and I wasn't together with anyone else. I like the game, even if I didn't come close to winning either time I played. I like it because I learn a little about birds and their habitats each time I play. It is the kind of game where you sort of play against yourself. I have done better each time I played.
I think it is cool that designers are making games that are also fun and educational. I look forward to the days to come when I might play Wingspan with someone other than my son.
