Pandemic Hoarding

I remember a little over a year ago when the grocery store shelves were not empty, but there were things that weren't available.  There were brands that were sold out.  There wasn't a lot of toilet paper.  I remember feeling a little panic when I saw the empty places on the shelves. I even bought a pack of toilet paper that I probably didn't need when I saw it available last summer.

But, the thing I did buy, that I was very concerned about was tea.  I know for most of you it is coffee that you couldn't be without, but for me it is tea.  I don't like Lipton, the brisk acid taste is what I want from tea.  I became a tea drinker in England and I like British teas.  English breakfast tea is a little pricey, but delicious.  I probably like PG Tips the best of all tea, but I don't drink it every day.  I usually have it when I have time to savor it,

But, as I saw the grocery store shelves reduce and reduce in supplies of various things, the one thing I knew that I couldn't live without (hyperbole) was a good tea.  Acceptable tea to me include Newman's Own, Bromley, PG Tips, and saving the best for last Tetley.  I really like Tetley tea.  It is my first choice in daily brew.  But, even in non-pandemic times it is sometimes hard to find.  Stores carry it for a while and then stop.  Anyway, I stocked up on tea. I probably have enough tea to take me through to next year.  I apologize if you weren't able to find good tea during the pandemic.  I bought more than my share. But, I am not really sorry.  If I hadn't had a good cuppa every morning and one at lunch, I doubt that I could have survived.
