One Shot

I have no training in defense, military  or otherwise. In my ignorance I have to ask--how did our capitol, the seat of government with all of our representatives inside fall to invaders last week with only one shot fired, seemingly? I am not an advocate of guns and weapons, but an angry mob with weapons, threats, zip tie handcuffs would seem like the kind of crowd that one might use deadly force upon. Give the officer who shot the woman a medal. Send the ones who took selfies with the mob to prison.

It didn't succeed, thank God.  They failed.  But they erected a scaffold for hanging in front of the capitol. Shame! They stopped the business of our nation.  They were seemingly hunting for legislators. Thank God, none were found.  They stole things.  I feel concern for those laptops they apparently walked out of the capitol with in their backpacks, in their hands. What will be the results if they use or sell those things they stole?

Traitors broke into our nation's house last week and only one shot was fired, it seems. I suppose I would back off of recommending a firing squad for these traitors as they are found and arrested. I am opposed to the death penalty.  But, someone who dies in the commission of a serious crime, I am not so sad for those people. Traitors need to be imprisoned for a long time.  They are dangerous people.  They are enemies of our country.

Measures need to be taken to prevent events like this in the future.  At one time the public could walk through the White House without restraint.  These days it is very difficult to get into the White House.  Perhaps it is time to take more measures to secure the Capitol.  It is our nation's house.  It should take more than one shot to invade and take over our nation's house.
