Old Dog, New Tricks

I have a new/old laptop that I purchased a couple of years ago.  I got it to replace my first laptop that I thought was on its last legs.  Well, the old one is still working, so that is what I am using for the most part. This one has a windows version that I don't quite get.  The search engine seems different.  I am not sure how to do things on it. But, today I am trying.

I got a document camera.  I have a lot of old family photos and documents that I want to share with family and photographing with a document camera seems like the easiest way.  But, I want to do it on this "new" computer. I want to switch to this computer completely eventually.  Eventually.

I thought I was doing okay with technology for several years.  People I knew worked in IT and so I had people I could question about things.  Before I retired I was nearly Google certified.  I decided not to take the test, but the instructor assured me that I could pass it.  I am not sure that she was correct, but I did know a lot of Google things once upon a time.  But, things keep changing.  Blogger changed, emails changed, windows and search engines changed.  Things just keep changing.  I am not keeping up.

But, today I plan to work with the document camera and this new/old computer. It may be difficult to teach old dogs new tricks, but unless they are dead, they can be taught. New year, new computer, time to get cracking.
