My two and half year old grandson and I play physically sometimes. He likes to play tickle bugs. In this game I make a bee sound or move my fingers like crawling bugs and tickle him. He runs away and comes back for more. He enjoys this roughhousing, as most little boys do.
These days, baby sister at nine months is becoming increasingly mobile. She crawls, she creeps, she very nearly walks. She would like to get in on some tickle bug action, but I fear that she might get hurt with brother jumping around, so I keep her at bay while we are rough housing.
The other day a tickle bug game ensued and the tickle bugs were eating my grandson up. He loved it. He kept coming back for more. Them suddenly I felt a chomp on my big toe. Apparently sister took the eating him up literally and decided that my toe looked edible.
I am going forward trying to include sister in the game. At very least I am protecting the toes on my feet. Grandma toes are not on the menu.
