Boring Post for Saturday--Inaugural Parade

I get stressed sometimes trying to think of an activity to do with a 9 month old and a 2 and a half year old.  The 9 month old wants her hands into everything and furthermore, puts everything into her mouth.  The 2 and a half year old wants to be active and has a short attention span, but likes to do projects.  A week and a half ago I had an inspired idea, on inauguration day we made our own inaugural parade.

For the parade we lined up all the boy's trucks.  It ended up with a trash truck (the best truck if you are a two year old) leading the parade.  The riding blue rocking horse and the popping elephant were on the tail of the parade as befits the place of politics in the celebration. Our parade was pretty stationery.  We did have a band.  We banged on the Daniel Tiger drum and blew a toy horn.  The baby and I shook rattles and banged on the toy piano. It was a real celebration. And then ten minutes was up and we had moved on to other things.

But it was a memory.
