Boring Posts--Halloween

I am not a big Halloween fan. I didn't let my son go trick or treating. We moved so much and I didn't feel that it was safe.  I bought him candy.  We handed out candy.  He dressed in a costume. But, we didn't go trick or treating.

In the neighborhood I live in now there are a lot of kids.  I have turned on a light, but I never get too many takers. I usually have a lot of candy left over. This year I won't turn on the light.  I won't buy candy. It might be the start of a trend.  Even if it is safe next year, perhaps I am done with Halloween. Getting up and handing out candy is a hassle. Kids don't really want to even say Trick or Treat, they just want to hurry and get candy and be on their way. I don't really feel safe opening the door at the end of the evening when the bigger kids come through.  The world doesn't feel safe or innocent these days.

Maybe I can offer to hand out the candy next year for my son and daughter in law so that they can take the kids.  It would be an excuse to see them.  I will think about that.
