Dear Me,

 Dear Me,

Someday the pandemic will be over.  You will no longer hesitate to go to gatherings.  You will be able to shop whenever you want to do it.  Every sniffle won't put you into panic mode.  You won't need to think of every little thing you might need before you go to an appointment like you mask, your hand sanitizer, whether you should use the public restroom.  You won't worry quite as much about your children and grandchildren and what they might contract.  You will eat in restaurants again with caution and concern. And many other things.

But, in those days distant or near when the virus is not breathing down your neck, I hope you will remember some lessons.  Shopping is not entertainment and should be done when you need something. If you are sick, stay home.  Stay up to date on shots, tests, and medical appointments. Know that others are going through stress too and try to lighten the day.  Be patient.  Hold onto your temper. Be kind.  Appreciate medical workers, emergency workers, store workers, educators, and everyone. Forgive the people who object to masks and shots and science.  There were plenty of people who used to believe in the flat earth and some who still do. Stupidity is just stupidity and not worthy of hate. Stupidity is worthy of prayer.  There are plenty of people who judge you as stupid.

And go to Mass!  Treasure receiving Eucharist.  You were missing it for too long. Pray. Hug people again. Rejoice that you made it through. Rejoice.

Love,

Me
