Catalogue

Dodger is an old cat. He is a character.  If you like characters that decide to "talk" to you at 4 am.  But sometimes that early rising gets me to 6:30 Mass.  So it isn't all bad.  I guess.

Often he sleeps on the bed between my hubby and I.  We still have the family bed after all these years.  I just never imagined that I would be sleeping with a cat who snored.  It is cute in a way.

Dodger has been in ill health many times in his life.  He has had 2 kidney surgeries, at least one teeth cleaning, maybe two, a thyroid surgery, and the declaw and neutering that were part of the original investment back at the beginning of our relationship. He has taken antibiotics. He has taken a medicine I had to get from a drug store once.  The oriental pharmacist had a great deal of trouble understanding that Dodger was not my baby at 12 pounds, but my cat until I went Meow, meow.  Then she smiled and got it.

He got his name because he stole things, pencils, erasers, etc.  If you were working with some small tool and it disappeared, you could be sure it was now a cat toy.  He was sneaky about the things he stole, still is, like the Artful Dodger in Oliver Twist.

Dodger is 16 about right now.  We always said that his birthday was April.  Many cats are born then.  Over the next few months, it will be a good time to find a kitten or two and they can be fun.  When they don't wake you at 4 am and when they don't have several health issues they can be lots of fun.  But when they get old, they mostly eat and sleep.  But we won't be looking for a kitten just yet.  We still have old Dodger and his side kick Rudy who is no spring kitten at 10 years old himself.

He looks so cute and 'round.' He is blessed to have 'parents' who look after him so well.

Oh Mary, Rudy looks so much like our cat, Minca, and is definitely as rotund. :)

Dodger is a gorgeous cat, and his character definitely shows through.

Have a wonderful and blessed week,
Jillian ♥
