My little neighbor girl (over 6 feet tall and mid 20s) is getting married in July. Not only are we invited to the wedding, but she is going to walk through our yard in her gown on the way to church and have flower petals thrown at her. I can't wait. (It makes me glad we don't have a dog because what if....)
Have you Googled your house? Or the house you grew up in? A surprising number of places are actually photographed and pictured on Google. I can find 2 of the houses I lived in as a child and my husband finds his childhood home. One of my brothers recently emailed me pictures of our childhood houses, but I had seen them already.
I closed out the library on Monday. I ended up with 78 overdues and about 100 books stolen. Most of the overdues will come back or be paid for this summer. Then there were another 40 or so books that went with kids who moved away. So, I lost about $3000 worth of books this year. A chunk of change for sure.
Dawn has suggested offering everyone a chance to do "Boring Posts for Saturday." Anyone else interested? I figured it was just a quirk in my personality, but maybe there are more of us than I think. If you can't do boring, because you are just too good a writer or have too interesting a life, you could still link to it. One reason I started posting Boring Post for Saturday is that so many bloggers take the weekends off and that is when I have the most time to read and write blogs. I haven't been able to figure out Mr Linky yet, but I will do a trial run tomorrow if you want to link in the comments. Good idea or not?
I need to add to those summer goals posted last week. I have to finish the baby quilt for the great nephew expected in August. I kind of quit working on it for a while. I need to get rid of more stuff in the basement and in this room. I need to cover sofa cushions for my son. I need to do a complete cleaning of the kitchen with everything out of the cabinets. And there are some others, but that will do for now.
What is it with these Oklahoma bloggers going to New York City? First it was Pioneer Woman, then it was Old Woman. Maybe you just need to be a Woman to go to New York. Someday I will go. Someday.
Emily Dickinson wrote this poem I'm Nobody many years ago. I think she would have been an awesome blogger. Just substitute the last word bog with blog and it would be perfect.
Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us — don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know.
How dreary to be somebody!
How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!
Don't forget to write a Boring Post for Saturday tomorrow. LOL (I do believe I am truly over the edge, around the bend, up a creek, or just plain crazy. ;}
