August is not a good month for me. I have almost quit the blog during two different Augusts. I go from quiet days of morning Masses to hectic days with late night meetings and mornings that come way too early. But by the end of the month I have usually found my stride. I get back into the routine and it all doesn't seem so hard. I figure out how to fit it all in.
I am a middle school librarian at this point in my life. But, I have taught various and sundry things. I started out after college as an elementary librarian in Decatur, Illinois. Then I substituted at all levels and finally was hired to teach 2nd grade in Orlando, Florida. Then I taught preschool in Hawaii. In St Louis I began as a science and reading teacher in middle school at a Catholic school. I hated it! Then I taught 3rd and 2nd at a public elementary school and moved into middle school reading and finally back to library in middle school where I will no doubt end my teaching career.
It has been a circuitous route involving hubby's naval career with many moves. But, the biggest similarity in all of that was that I shop back to school sales and go from sixty to zero at the start of the summer and from zero to sixty sometime in August.
August is not a good month for me. But, this year I am hanging on. I am trying to keep up the blog without threatening to quit (you lose a lot of readers that way). I am trying to balance my activities and know that they will slow down a little once August is over.
