It Snowed on Thursday

Last Thursday we should have had a snow day.  I drove to work through the worst snow packed streets I have ever encountered driving to work. It was slick and cold.  There wasn't a lot of snow.  Less than 3 inches.  But, it blew around and blew around and drifted.  And unlike most snowy mornings, I didn't see any plows or salt trucks out at all.  Surely they were somewhere, but I didn't see any.

In fact the very best street was the one at the end of my driveway, but all the rest were snow packed.  But, it was pretty.  I was astonished by the beauty of the blowing snow.
Our street did not look bad at all.

The parking lot at school had been cleaned when I arrived an hour later.  However, in between the roads were snow packed.

I tried to take a picture of the blowing snow.

As you can see, there wasn't a lot of snow.

The part that looks like fog is blowing snow.

It was really blowing all day long.

But, at the end of the day, I was safe at home.  That was a very good place to be.  I imagined that the guardian angels were busy all day long.

It was blowing hard here too near Chicago but not as bad as your pictures look. I did take my dog out for a bit and then decided, it wasn't worth it. We headed back to a warm dry house.
