Quick Takes, Volume 22

Here's some quick takes. Linked to Conversion Diary.

-1-

Went to the doctor Monday, cholesterol is down a bit. Need to keep up with the long walks. So, I have walked twice since then. This blog will probably host some more pictures of the walk, as taking pictures makes it more interesting.

Check out Dawn's little blog shop for some neat templates and buttons and such. Dawn is a computer whiz. she designed the logos for the Boring Posts for Saturday. Don't forget to blog tomorrow with the Boring Posts for Saturday.

I am hoping to have the painting in the great room under way by next week this time. It has only been ten years in the making. If I get that done, then on to carpet and kitchen flooring. Something without the blue, the threadbare and the separating seams would be my preference. I am not the home designer by nature and the shows I've been watching aren't helping.

I realize that I have reached that point in summer where I am tired of reading, sick of decorating shows, have given up trying to clean everything (anything), haven't started some of the things I have dreamed of doing this summer, am finding it less and less likely that I will get to go out of town on a vacation. I think the only way out is to plan a staycation. But, where to go? I will have to think about that.

I think I fixed the problem I was having with blogger, not the scheduled posting problem, which seems to crop up in the summer, but the one where my whole post would be gone when I hit the publish post button and wouldn't even be there when I tried the back button, just gone. I had a wee bit of frustration and might have used bad words, if I had known any, luckily, I didn't. I had to clear my cache and cookies. Figures, too many cookies. The story of my life.

Did you ever wish you could pursue a reader who showed up in stats and only looked at you for zero seconds? Or wish you could find out who they are? I had a viewer from Pearl Harbor, HI the other day, and since I used to live there, I wanted to say--wait, wait, tell me about what you are doing in Hawaii! Somebody from Chicago is clicking in from time to time and I wonder who it is. I love Chicago. I KNOW PEOPLE in Chicago. But, alas, it is a one way street. They see me, I don't see them.

I was cleaning my office/guest/junk room the other day wondering what in the world I was going to do with some of the stuff when it hit me. OW had said she would take a book I was giving away and nobody else wanted it, so once again I can send a surprise package to the Shoe. If I could do the cross out thing, I would write "load 'o crap" and cross it out, but I can't find my directions for that, so use your imagination, it is crossed out and replaced with fabulous prize package. Sorry, OW, but if you send me anything bigger than a postcard I will send it back. I am trying to get rid of stuff. Stuff just sneaks into my house and I have to send it somewhere. This stuff was begging to go to Oklahoma.

Teehee..."too many cookies." You're funny, Mary!

Here's how you do the cross out trick, Mary. On the front end of word or phrase you'd like to cross out put the word strike inside of these little greater than/less than thingies < >. On the other end of the phrase put /strike inside of the greater than/less than thingies. See? It's simple. But oh so cool!

I walked the mall today and oh boy were those cookies tempting. And the pretzels. But I resisted. I will have to play with the crossing out. I have the directions written down somewhere, but now I printed out yours. Thanks.

I have bad words, and cookies, to spare...

thanks for linking to my site.

I just realized I hadn't added you to my Following Blogs after having deleted the list from the front of my blog, which is where I followed you before.

The last few days I've been thinking, "Did Mary go out of town and not tell anybody?" But then I figured it out. You certainly did not get rid of me!!

Same with a few other blogs... I just don't know which ones!!
