Quick Takes

Here's 7 quickly taken thoughts from my week. This feature is hosted by Conversion Diary which is a very grand blog and well worth reading. If only I would take the time to link this.

-First Take-

Four, count them, 4 more school days, do you know where your library books are? I am whittling the list down. I have under 150 students who still have under 250 books checked out. I really need to get the books down to under 100, but there are still 4 days of school. And, as I have told the children, the Geneva Conventions allow daily visits to the librarian to explain your overdues and this is NOT considered torture. But we won't be releasing the videos from the security cameras.

-Second Take-

If we hadn't taken 4 snow days, this would have been the last day of school.

-Third Take-

The other day as BigB and I took a walk a fox ran across the road. A few days before that a deer ran beside the road. Daily there are hawks on the church roof. There still is a little horse farm down the road from our house. But in the middle of St Louis County you really don't expect that much wildlife roaming around. I really would like to pay the fox to come eat the rabbits who are feasting on my petunias. The circle of life and all. I am more of a pro predator sort of gal.

-Fourth Take-

I recently remembered my Twitter account and signed in. I don't understand the fascination of saying whatever it is that you are doing at the moment. Perhaps it is because I don't do anything interesting. I think I am Mary_hope on Twitter. But I probably won't check it much. If you Tweet and you care, you can ask to follow me and I will let you.

-Fifth Take-

So, is there anything interesting to do in Oklahoma besides go to Mass and sing Billy Boy while driving through Colony? The guys I am trying to talk into going there think Oklahoma is either a desert or a flat plain with brush fires or the source of tornados. They think it is hot. I am trying to talk up the rolling hills, air conditioned museums, and the many fine eating establishments available. I have ordered something from the tourist bureau.

-Sixth Take-

This was my crowd of peeps on Mother's Day. My aunt and uncle, my mom, my son, and my brother Ned. We were waiting for an elavator to take us up to the restaurant in Q.

-Seventh Take-

For your continual education and enjoyment, I am sticking with a poem for the last take.
A word is dead

When it is said,

Some say.

I say it just

Begins to live

That day.

I guess that is what we are doing blogging--living through the words we leave behind.
